Project for the Roig Gamba Nightclub, in Platja d'Aro (III)

The Roig Gamba Nightclub doesn’t merely impress from the outside; it invites guests into an otherworldly underwater realm once they step through its doors. Inside, curving walls and fluid, undulating forms mimic the sensation of being beneath the waves, while ambient lighting and carefully chosen acoustics create a soothing, immersive atmosphere. The furniture and decor echo the sea with organic shapes and textures, from soft, anemone-like seating to tables inspired by coral reefs. At the bar, bartenders serve unique, ocean-themed cocktails that add to the sensory experience. The Roig Gamba Nightclub has redefined nightlife in Platja d’Aro, fusing art, architecture, and the marine world into a one-of-a-kind destination.

Fishbowl Apartments in Platja d'Aro (I)

The Fishbowl Apartments in Platja d'Aro offer a unique approach to sustainable housing by repurposing shipping containers into livable spaces. These containers, once used to transport goods across oceans, are transformed into modern apartments that prioritize both creativity and eco-friendliness. Each unit combines minimalist design with maritime-inspired elements, featuring clear fishbowl installations in the walls that mimic aquariums, adding a dynamic, underwater aesthetic that connects inhabitants with a sense of oceanic life.

The apartments are also designed to incorporate sustainable water management systems. Rooftops are equipped with rainwater collection mechanisms that filter and store water, visible to residents, fostering awareness of natural resources. This visible water collection encourages a connection with the natural environment, emphasizing the importance of sustainable living.

By reusing these durable containers, the Fishbowl Apartments avoid the environmental impact of new construction materials, reducing waste and energy consumption. This architectural approach combines functional, recycled materials with unique design elements that reflect the coastal culture of Platja d'Aro. The result is a compelling example of how creative repurposing can meet housing needs while promoting sustainability and offering a truly distinctive living experience.

Project and Draft for the Communications Tower at Platja de l'Almadrava (II)

Beyond its impressive height and minimalist design, the 900-meter communications tower is also a marvel of cutting-edge engineering and sustainability. To withstand extreme winds at high altitudes, the tower incorporates flexible, wind-resistant materials that adapt to shifts in pressure and temperature. The tripod base is not only aesthetically balanced but also engineered for maximum stability on various terrains, including remote, seismic-prone areas.

This modern icon is powered by renewable energy, featuring integrated solar panels along its structure and a small wind turbine near the top. These energy sources ensure the tower’s functionality while maintaining an environmentally conscious footprint. Inside, the structure houses advanced communication technology that can serve vast regions, from dense urban centers to isolated rural areas, bridging digital divides and enhancing connectivity.

At night, the tower becomes a beacon, illuminated by energy-efficient LED lights that trace its sleek form, creating a visual connection to the heavens. This subtle glow enhances its role as a modern landmark, symbolizing humanity’s pursuit of simplicity, sustainability, and connection.

Mahogany Red Project: Vertical Mangrove City (II)

The Mahogany Red Project has also prioritized community engagement and education as fundamental pillars of its mission. The Vertical Mangrove City includes spaces dedicated to environmental education, with interactive centers where residents and visitors can learn about the vital role of mangroves in coastal protection, carbon storage, and biodiversity. Workshops, guided tours, and observation decks allow people to witness firsthand the dynamic relationship between architecture and nature in this unique ecosystem.

In addition, the project aims to foster a strong sense of community among its residents. Shared green spaces, recreational areas, and communal gardens are designed to encourage interaction and collaboration, creating an atmosphere where sustainability is not only practiced but also celebrated. By involving local communities and promoting eco-conscious living, the Mahogany Red Project seeks to inspire similar initiatives around the world, highlighting the potential of architectural innovation to address environmental challenges while enhancing quality of life.
